Real stories, a room that is up and moving, and a simple way to keep going when fear and uncertainty show up. 45 to 60 minutes, built around what your people write down before the day.
Put words to the fear, worry or stress behind the hard days.
Let go of what isn't and choose one small next step.
Give themselves, and the people around them, room to be human.
Use the same simple language with their team and the students they serve.

Everything comes back to Fearing Less, the framework built from 75,000+ written fears. It has three moves, Trace, Embrace and Grace, and your people can use any of them, in any order, the moment fear shows up. Simple enough to remember on a hard Tuesday.
Everyone in one room before the year starts.
Professional development people want to attend.
Opening or closing keynote, plus a breakout.
Leadership teams and whole-staff days.

I'm a keynote speaker and a fear collector. Over the last ten years I've asked rooms across education some version of the question, "What do you fear?" and collected 75,000 written fears from fourth graders to retirees, five generations in all. Those cards built what I teach: you don't have to be fearless. You just need a way to keep moving when fear and uncertainty show up.

Educators and the people around them. That means K-12 schools and districts, colleges and universities, education conferences and associations, and the nonprofits and companies that serve education. The stories, the examples and the fear cards are picked for the people in your room.
Lighter. Fear is a heavy topic, and Darryl talks about it in a way that leaves the room laughing and breathing easier, not weighed down. They also leave with a framework they can use for themselves and for the people they serve: name what they're carrying, sort what's theirs to control, bounce back from setbacks and keep the conversation going. Everyone gets a Fear(less) band and one next step to take home.
Yes. It starts with a pre-event questionnaire and a planning call, where we talk about your theme, your goals and what your people are facing. Before the day, your people get a short link to share their fears anonymously and a pre-event hype video from Darryl. Those fears shape the stories and examples he uses in the room, and the video means he's not a cold intro. The room is warmed up before he ever walks on.
If you're looking for a pure entertainer or a generic motivational talk, Darryl isn't the guy. His work is for meeting and event professionals who want the room to leave with a process, not just a feeling. If your event is about helping educators keep moving through fear and uncertainty, you're in the right place.
The keynote runs 45 to 60 minutes. The Fearing Less in Action workshop can follow for 45 to 75 minutes, and it works well as a breakout or a leadership session the same day.
A date, a room and a point person. From there, Darryl and the team send you everything else: the pre-event video and fear link for your people, custom fear cards for your event, Fear(less) bands shipped ahead of time, and a short AV and stage list so your tech team knows what to set up.
It ranges from rooms of 100 to more than 3,000. The interactive elements are adjusted based on the number of attendees and what is possible in the event space.
Opening week, January and conference season go first, so most people reach out 3 to 9 months ahead. If your date is sooner, ask anyway. Send the form and you'll hear back within hours on business days.
Tell us about your event. If Darryl is not the right fit for your room, we will tell you up front.
