0:00 So I want to end my time here by sharing a few stories on how people were able to have fearless moments with the band and with the message. The first one, I always share it. It doesn't matter what age, but I share this one because it's a pretty cool one.
0:13 I spoke to a group of college students, and about three weeks later, I got a text from a student. This was years ago, when I actually gave out my cell phone number. I don't anymore. He said, "Dude, I literally used the mentality when I went to my first college party, and instead of moping around the party being awkward, I talked to people, and now I'm on the map. I appreciate it, dude." So I love that one.
0:47 Because in this room, I know there are some of you who show the most fearless energy when you're at work, but maybe in your personal life you don't stand up for yourself, or maybe in certain relationships you don't. So when I think about fearlessness, it's not only personal, but it's professional as well. I want to invite you to lean in.
1:04 I get pictures all the time from people of all ages. In the top right corner, you'll see a photo of someone who was going through cancer treatment, and they wore the band through the treatment. I reached back out later and asked how it went. She shared that her surgeries went well and everything is going well. Snap it up for that story.
1:32 And the one in the middle doesn't have a band on it. I love sharing that one for the skeptics in the room. It was a new professional who was going into their role and was nervous about it. I got this story from him about two years later. He said, "Darryl, when I got this band, I thought, this is dumb." He said, "It's been two years. I went to the beach, looked down at my arm, and as you can see by the tan mark, I realized that my band is gone." He said when he first met me, he was in a position he was struggling in. He was very unhealthy and in a bad relationship. Two years later, he's in a new role, a lot healthier, and in a new relationship.
2:17 I love that one because a lot of times we think the things we're struggling with, personally or professionally, are going to change overnight. But y'all, a lot of times we are in our role to just start to steer that ship. Remember that the work that you do daily is sometimes the start, and it's going to be somebody else who takes it on from there.
You will hear back within hours on business days.
